Where is Magic Bavaria located in Munich?

Magic Bavaria is located on the lower ground floor (1. UG) of the MONA Center, right next to the Olympia-Einkaufszentrum (OEZ), at Pelkovenstraße 145, 80992 Munich, Germany.

What are the opening hours of Magic Bavaria?

Outside the Bavarian school holidays: Mon/Wed/Thu/Fri 11 am–7 pm, Sat/Sun 10 am–7 pm. Tuesdays on request.

On public holidays and during the Bavarian school holidays: daily 10 am–7 pm.

How do I get to Magic Bavaria by public transport?

Magic Bavaria is easy to reach by public transport. From the Olympia-Einkaufszentrum underground station, there is direct access to the lower ground floor of the MONA Center.

Underground (U-Bahn):
Lines U1, U3 and U7 (e.g. approx. 15 minutes from Marienplatz on the U3 and approx. 10 minutes from Munich Central Station on the U1/U7).

​

S-Bahn:
Take the S1 to Moosach station, then change to the U3. From there, it is only two stops to Olympia-Einkaufszentrum.

Can I drive to Magic Bavaria and where can I park?

Yes. You can easily reach Magic Bavaria by car. Parking is available at the MONA Center car park (Pelkovenstraße 143/147) and the OEZ South car park (Pelkovenstraße 152). Free parking is also available on some surrounding streets.

How long does a visit to Magic Bavaria take?

You should allow approximately 60–90 minutes for your visit to Magic Bavaria.

Your booked time slot determines your admission time. You should allow approximately 60–90 minutes for your visit.

Is Magic Bavaria a good place to visit in Munich when it rains or is hot outside?

Yes. Magic Bavaria is an indoor attraction in Munich and can be visited in any weather. The exhibition is air-conditioned, making it a great option for rainy days as well as hot summer days.

TICKETS AND BOOKING

Where can I buy tickets for Magic Bavaria?

You can buy tickets for Magic Bavaria online in our ticket shop or at the ticket desk on site. Admission without an advance booking cannot be guaranteed if a time slot is sold out.

Can I visit Magic Bavaria without booking a ticket online in advance?

Yes. You can also buy tickets at the ticket desk when you arrive. However, admission cannot be guaranteed if a time slot is sold out. Booking online in advance secures admission for your selected time slot.

What is included in a Magic Bavaria admission ticket?

All regular Magic Bavaria tickets include access to all exhibition areas.

​

When should I arrive for my booked time slot at Magic Bavaria?

Please arrive on time for your booked time slot. You are also welcome to arrive up to 15 minutes early. Admission is possible up to 30 minutes after the start of your time slot.

​

What happens if I am late for my booked time slot?

You can still enter Magic Bavaria up to 30 minutes after the start of your booked time slot.

​

At what age do children need a ticket for Magic Bavaria?

Children under 3 years of age can visit Magic Bavaria free of charge. Reduced tickets are available for children aged 3–5. On Family Day on Wednesdays, except during the Bavarian school holidays, your own children up to and including the age of 6 can enter free of charge.

Do I need to print my Magic Bavaria ticket?

No. A digital ticket is sufficient. Simply show the QR code on your ticket at the entrance.

​

Can I cancel, change or transfer my Magic Bavaria ticket?

Tickets cannot be cancelled, but they can be transferred to another person free of charge.

​

I haven't received my Magic Bavaria ticket by email. What should I do?

Please check your spam folder first. If you still cannot find the email, contact us. We can find your booking using your email address or order number.

Are there discounts or promo codes for Magic Bavaria?

Seasonal offers and promotions are published on our website and in our newsletter. Subscribe to our newsletter to stay up to date with current offers.

How can I book Magic Bavaria for a group?

Groups of 10 to 14 people can book discounted group tickets directly online. For groups of 15 or more people or for individual visiting times, you can send us a group enquiry. More information is available on our Group Visits page.

What age is Magic Bavaria suitable for?

We recommend Magic Bavaria for children from around 6 years of age. At this age, children can usually make good use of the interactive installations. Children under 14 may only visit the exhibition when accompanied by an adult.

We ask parents of younger children to make sure that exhibits and installations are treated with care.

Are there family tickets or group discounts at Magic Bavaria?

Yes. Family tickets are available for families, and discounted group tickets are available for groups of 10 or more people. You can find our current admission prices on our website.

Can I celebrate a children's birthday party at Magic Bavaria?

Yes. Children's birthday parties at Magic Bavaria are available from the child's 9th birthday. You can choose between visiting the exhibition together or a birthday package with a private party room. Does Magic Bavaria offer special visits for school groups?

Yes. Magic Bavaria offers a range of options for companies and teams, from group visits and team events to team workshops and company celebrations. More information is available on our Events & Teams page.

Can I bring a stroller or pushchair into Magic Bavaria?

Yes. Strollers and pushchairs can be left near the entrance or taken into the exhibition. As some areas are narrower, taking a stroller or pushchair through the entire exhibition may not always be practical.

THE MAGIC BAVARIA EXPERIENCE

What can you do at Magic Bavaria in Munich?

Magic Bavaria is an interactive museum and indoor attraction in Munich featuring creative photo sets, optical illusions, upside-down rooms, local art and fun facts about Bavaria. In many of the installations, you become part of the scene yourself.

Can I take photos and videos at Magic Bavaria?

Yes. Photography and filming for personal use are welcome at Magic Bavaria. Photo booths are available at several installations, and our team will also be happy to help you take photos.

​

Are there lockers or a cloakroom at Magic Bavaria?

Yes. Free lockers are available in the entrance area.

​

Is there a café at Magic Bavaria?

Yes. Our museum café offers drinks and snacks.

​

Can I bring my own food and drinks into Magic Bavaria?

No. Outside food and drinks are generally not permitted. Exceptions can be arranged in advance for school groups. Drinks and snacks are available in our museum café.

​

Are there toilets at Magic Bavaria?

Yes. Toilets are available in the entrance area. Accessible toilets are also available in the MONA Center.

​

Are dogs or other pets allowed at Magic Bavaria?

No. Pets are not permitted inside Magic Bavaria for hygiene reasons.

ACCESSIBILITY AND SERVICES

Is Magic Bavaria wheelchair accessible?

Magic Bavaria has step-free access, and most of the exhibition can be visited in a wheelchair. Due to their design, some individual installations are not wheelchair accessible or can only be used to a limited extent.

An accessible toilet is available, and accessible parking spaces can be found in the MONA Center car park.

Magic Bavaria has been assessed for accessibility by “Reisen für Alle”. You can find detailed accessibility information here.

Are discounted tickets available for visitors with disabilities?

Yes. Visitors with a severe disability are eligible for the reduced admission price. A registered accompanying person can enter free of charge.

Can I hire Magic Bavaria for a corporate event, private event or photo shoot?

How can I redeem a Magic Bavaria gift voucher?

You can redeem your Magic Bavaria gift voucher either online or directly on site. When booking online, enter your voucher code during checkout. The voucher value will automatically be deducted from your order.

How long are Magic Bavaria gift vouchers valid?

Magic Bavaria gift vouchers are valid for two years from the date of purchase.
